The Second Young Master’s Obedient Husband : Chapter 58
Liang Yu hung up the tanned hide to dry and used the cloth to wipe his sweat. Liang Yu sweated a lot, and the cloth was soaked through in no time.
He put the cloth in water to wash it. Looking at the embroidery on it, his hand paused and his eyes narrowed. It was embroidered with a large dog carrying a green fish in its mouth. The large dog’s tail was wagging high, with blue gray fur that looked a bit like Shanfeng. The stitches were fine and dense, embroidered in a realistic style, yet it somehow inexplicably gave off a silly air.
Liang Yu was a bit suspicious but not sure whether it was Shanfeng or…
It wouldn’t be good to wrongly accuse Su Qingyu. After wringing out the cloth, Liang Yu pointed at the embroidery and asked the little person beside him. “What you embroidered on this is…”
Su Qingyu saw the embroidery clearly and panicked inside. How did he grab this cloth by mistake… Before Liang Yu could finish speaking, he honestly confessed everything. “I’m sorry husband… I was wrong. I only embroidered it like this because I thought it was fun. I didn’t mean to say you look like a dog…”
Liang Yu reached out and pinched Su Qingyu’s cheeks, pulling him over, deliberately putting on a stern face. “Su Qingyu, your courage has grown. You dare to tease me like this…”
Before he could finish, Su Qingyu stood on his toes and kissed him on the lips.
Liang Yu immediately couldn’t keep a straight face. He chuckled softly, held the back of his neck, and kissed him thoroughly. Su Qingyu wrapped his arms around Liang Yu’s neck and responded to his kiss. Feeling in the wrong, he gave whatever was asked. As they kissed, they ended up in bed again.
…
After the lovemaking, Liang Yu skillfully cleaned up the mess, wiped their bodies, and held Su Qingyu in bed.
Su Qingyu leaned against his chest, his eyes and brows still carrying the lingering springtime charm. Liang Yu had never gone all the way before marriage, and after marriage their lovemaking was constant. Now Su Qingyu had grown quite used to it.
He recovered his strength before long and suddenly remembered something, asking, “Husband, those things… do you not like them? I noticed you stopped letting me use them later…”
Liang Yu kissed his face and said, “I like doing this only because I like you. Whether those things are used or not doesn’t matter. Having you is enough.”
Su Qingyu’s eyes reddened, and he leaned back into his embrace.
Liang Yu rubbed his face against his and asked with a smile, “Did you do all this to make me happy?”
Su Qingyu’s body stiffened, and he said nothing.
“I know what you’re thinking. You’re always thinking of being good to me, thinking of making me happy. Studying those books, using those things, it was all for this reason.”
Liang Yu held him even tighter and said gently, “Qingyu, I married you not so you could try to please me. I only hope you can live happily.”
Su Qingyu raised his head. His face was covered in tears, and he looked at Liang Yu with red rimmed eyes.
Liang Yu wiped his face clean, kissed his lips, and said, “If you’re happy, I’m happy. You don’t need to think of ways to please me and make me happy. You being happy and cheerful is stronger than anything else.”
Su Qingyu’s tears flowed even harder. He cried in Liang Yu’s arms for a good while before slowly stopping, hiccuping, his face buried and refusing to lift up.
Liang Yu rubbed his head. “You’ve cried for so long. Your eyes will be swollen tomorrow.”
Su Qingyu’s muffled voice came out. “It’s all your fault…”
Liang Yu chuckled softly. “Yes, it’s my fault.”
Su Qingyu raised his head and looked at him for a while. He leaned in and kissed him on the lips, his voice hoarse. “Husband.”
Liang Yu made a sound of acknowledgment.
Su Qingyu curved the corners of his mouth, wiped his tears, and looked at him with bright eyes. “I like you so much.”
Liang Yu smiled and kissed him. “I know.”
After Su Qingyu had calmed his emotions, Liang Yu got out of bed, poured water for Su Qingyu to wash his face, and even prepared two boiled eggs for Su Qingyu to press against his eyes.
After all the fuss, Su Qingyu’s eyes weren’t so swollen anymore. He and Liang Yu shared the eggs and chatted in low voices.
“Husband, those books… and those things…”
Liang Yu looked down at him, his gaze carrying a bit of confusion.
Su Qingyu’s face reddened, and his voice grew even softer. “I bought them… it would be a shame… not to use them…”
Liang Yu was stunned, then chuckled softly.
Hearing this, Su Qingyu was so embarrassed that he buried himself in Liang Yu’s arms again.
“Then when you want to use them, just take them out.”
Su Qingyu’s face grew even redder, and he made a muffled sound of acknowledgment.
Liang Yu lowered his head and kissed the top of his head, his eyes full of smiles.
…
The young couple lived on the mountain, returning every so often. The Liang parents felt much more at ease and no longer worried about Liang Yu as much as before.
Su Qingyu was filial. When he went down the mountain, besides bringing things for Su’s mother, he would also send a share to the Liang parents and the elder brother’s family. When Zhang Yun got something, she would also save a share for Su Qingyu. The items weren’t worth much, but the thought was what mattered most. The sisters in law exchanged gifts back and forth, and their relationship grew better and better. Mother Liang had already liked Su Qingyu, and after spending time together, she grew even more satisfied with this husband.
Occasionally when Su Qingyu went down the mountain alone, he would run into Mother Liang.
At that time, Mother Liang was just returning from the fields. Seeing him, she greeted him with a smile. Su Qingyu quickly responded and called out sweetly, “Mother.”
Mother Liang took his hand and asked, “Qingyu, are you getting used to living on the mountain? Are you short of anything? If you need anything, just come home and take it. If you don’t know where things are, ask Shuanzi. He knows where everything is kept. Don’t feel embarrassed. Now that times are better, our family isn’t short of silver. We only sell what we have too much of. We can’t let our own family go without for the sake of money. Living on the mountain isn’t as convenient as living in the village. Don’t let yourselves suffer.”
Su Qingyu answered with a red face, “I’m getting used to it. We aren’t short of anything. Life on the mountain is quite good.”
Mother Liang looked at him, and the more she looked, the more she liked him. She patted his hand and said, “That’s good. Life on the mountain is hard. As long as you two are doing well, that’s what matters. If that rascal dares to bully you, you tell Mother, and Mother will deal with him.”
Su Qingyu smiled and nodded.
After Su Qingyu sold his things and returned to the mountain, he saw Liang Yu chopping firewood in the courtyard. His eyes turned, and mischief gradually rose in his mind. He put his hands on his hips and deliberately said in a loud voice, “From now on, you’re not allowed to bully me anymore. If you dare bully me, I’ll tell Mother and have her deal with you.”
Liang Yu set down the axe, crossed his arms, and looked at the cocky little person with complete composure.
Hearing Su Qingyu’s words, Liang Yu was thoroughly amused. He walked over, wrapped his arms around his waist, hoisted him over his shoulder, and walked toward the house while patting Su Qingyu’s bottom. He said in a low voice, “Alright, let’s see what happens when I bully you.”
That evening, Su Qingyu begged for mercy and cried and pleaded for a long time, making many concessions before he finally got to eat dinner.
