DMCA Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Orchid Lantern (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of this site to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and other applicable copyright laws.
If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act on behalf of one, and believe that content on this site infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice using the process described below.
Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
To be effective, your notice must be provided in writing (email is acceptable) and include the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of those works.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail that we can locate it — including the specific URL(s) on orchidlantern.com.
- Your contact information, including your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Notices that do not include all of the above information may not receive a response or may take longer to process.
Where to send your notice
Please send DMCA takedown notices to:
Email: [email protected]
What Happens After We Receive a Notice
Upon receipt of a valid takedown notice, we will:
- Remove or disable access to the identified material in a timely manner;
- Make a reasonable effort to notify the user or party who posted the content, if applicable; and
- Document the notice and our response for our records.
We reserve the right to remove content that we believe, in good faith, may infringe someone’s copyright, even without receiving a formal notice, and to reject or ignore notices that are incomplete, abusive, or clearly invalid.
Counter-Notification
If you believe content you posted or that relates to you was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. To be effective, your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and its location on the site before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the U.S., an appropriate jurisdiction), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original takedown notice.
Send counter-notifications to the same contact address listed above.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may reinstate the removed content within the timeframe required by applicable law, unless the original complainant informs us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringer from engaging in the infringing activity.
Repeat Infringers
We may, at our discretion, terminate or restrict the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of copyright.
Good Faith
Please note that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake, may be liable for damages. Please be sure your notice or counter-notification is accurate before submitting it.
