The Second Young Master’s Obedient Husband : Chapter 66
The cold winter faded away, and the weather gradually warmed day by day.
The snow on the mountains melted, tender green buds appeared on the treetops, and birds and beasts called out to one another. It was another beautiful spring scene.
The two of them went into the mountains to begin a year’s worth of work. Liang Yu went out hunting and gathering medicinal herbs, while Su Qingyu stayed home washing clothes and doing embroidery.
Occasionally he would take the puppies to play around the house, and while at it gather some fresh spring foods to add to their meals. Seasonal produce tasted the best. This was wild mountain freshness that even wealthy families living long in towns could not easily enjoy.
The chickens raised last year were difficult to bring down the mountain, so they were either eaten or left at home. This year, Mother Liang had specially kept half grown chicks for them to bring along. The chicks were not fully grown yet, so they were easy to carry, and they would not have to wait so long before getting eggs.
With meat, eggs, and grain in good supply, Su Qingyu’s brows and eyes were full of relaxed smiles. Every day was fulfilling and happy, and living in the mountains improved his complexion more and more. The two of them would work for half a month then go down the mountain once to sell things, stay at home for two or three days to keep their family company, then bring more grain and produce back up the mountain. Their days were full and carefree.
Liang Yu also asked experienced hunters to find sturdy peach trees from deep in the mountains and transplanted them in front of their wooden cabin in the hills.
The saplings took well, and Su Qingyu tended them carefully. As the spring winds grew warmer, the peach trees sprouted new leaves full of life.
Fruit trees that are transplanted do not bear much fruit in their first year, but Su Qingyu still watered them every day and even used chicken manure as fertilizer.
Every time after watering, he would squat beside them and watch for a long while, hoping they would quickly bear fruit so the whole family could eat the fresh peaches he grew himself, and have their fill whenever they craved them.
He still drank his medicine every day. Liang Yu brewed it early each morning and brought it to the bedside, watching him finish it.
Once he got used to the medicine, Su Qingyu did not find it so bitter anymore. Every time after drinking, he would burrow into Liang Yu’s embrace, wrap his arms around his waist, and look up with his little face to ask for candied fruit.
Liang Yu looked down at the person acting spoiled in his arms, bit the candied fruit, and leaned down to cover his lips.
When the kiss ended, the candied fruit was finished too. Su Qingyu’s face was red as he felt the sweetness filling his mouth, and he could no longer taste the bitterness of the medicine. Liang Yu held him, and the two of them shared some tender warmth before starting their daily work.
The days were plain and ordinary, but so very sweet.
After drinking the medicinal soup for several months, Su Qingyu’s health improved day by day. His complexion was rosy, his face always carried a faint pink, his body felt much lighter, and his energy was better than before. Even after working a full day, he no longer felt dizzy and unwell like he used to.
Moreover, before when they went too far at night, the next day his waist would ache and his legs would go soft, and getting up would be a struggle. Now even when Liang Yu got carried away, Su Qingyu could get up the next day full of energy. His endurance had truly improved a great deal.
Liang Yu was very pleased with this.
The mountains were quiet and secluded, food and drink were in good supply, and the two of them lived sweet days without a hint of shame.
As Su Qingyu’s health gradually improved, their feelings grew deeper, and Liang Yu’s mischievous streak gradually began to show.
That morning, Su Qingyu woke up. His eyes were not even open yet when his hand instinctively reached to the side, and as expected he only touched the empty bedding.
The sound of chopping firewood came through the window. Su Qingyu made a sleepy grunt, buried his face in the pillow and rubbed against it, hummed and grumbled a while longer before opening his eyes.
Su Qingyu sat up in a daze, yawning, and the quilt slipped down with his movement, revealing his pale tender body covered in red marks, like plum blossoms scattered across snow, beautiful and alluring.
Su Qingyu habitually half closed his eyes and reached toward the foot of the bed to grab his clothes. He fumbled for a long time but found nothing. Only then did Su Qingyu come fully awake. He leaned over to look at the foot of the bed, and the empty sight made him dumbstruck.
Su Qingyu froze, searched around and confirmed there was nothing. He flipped through the quilt and looked underneath, still nothing.
Looking elsewhere, he found no clothes on the stool either. The wardrobe door had somehow acquired a lock.
Su Qingyu’s face slowly turned red. He sat awkwardly wrapped in the quilt with his bare body for a while, bit his lip, and finally called out, “Husband…”
The chopping sound outside stopped.
After a moment, Liang Yu pushed open the door and walked in, leaning against the doorframe to appreciate the sight of the beauty’s angry pout with great interest. His Adam’s apple moved, and he thought to himself that this truly had its own special flavor.
Su Qingyu’s face grew even redder from being watched. He pressed his lips together and pulled the quilt tighter around himself, only exposing his pretty little face, and asked the wicked man fiercely, “Where are my clothes?”
Liang Yu played dumb. “What clothes?”
Su Qingyu heard Liang Yu’s nonsense and knew he was doing it on purpose. He punched the bedding in anger and glared at him with a look of fury.
Seeing those watery eyes glaring at him, Liang Yu finally chuckled softly, closed the door, walked over, sat on the bed, and reached out to hug him quilt and all, kissing his face.
Su Qingyu struggled halfheartedly, gave up when he could not break free, and went soft leaning against his chest, burying his face in anger and ignoring him.
Liang Yu pulled the quilt down a bit, leaned in to take a bite, then kissed down his neck, rubbing his face against Su Qingyu’s chest.
Breathing in the warm fragrance drifting from Su Qingyu’s body, feeling the little one’s silent indulgence, he laughed in a hoarse voice.
Su Qingyu shrank back but did not dodge. He obediently held the man’s head, his face red, letting him have his way in his arms.
Only after burying himself for a good while did Liang Yu raise his head, pinch Su Qingyu’s chin, and coax him, “Call me husband.”
Su Qingyu said softly with a red face, “Husband…”
Liang Yu held him and kissed him a while longer, then finally unlocked the wardrobe and handed him a set of clothes.
Su Qingyu took it and was about to put it on, when he realized something was missing.
His undergarment was gone.
Su Qingyu searched back and forth but could not find it. He raised his head and looked at Liang Yu with puffed up cheeks.
Liang Yu had been watching with his arms crossed for who knew how long, and the smile at his lips deepened.
Su Qingyu’s face looked even redder, whether from anger or shyness. Suddenly he lunged forward, opened his mouth, and bit his shoulder.
Liang Yu let him bite, holding the person in his arms, his smile deepening. “Acting like a little dog?”
Su Qingyu bit down and would not let go, mumbling, “Give it to me.”
“No.”
Su Qingyu bit him again in anger, then buried himself in the man’s chest acting spoiled and throwing a tantrum. “Husband… husband… good husband… give it to me…”
Seeing the man unmoved, Su Qingyu made up his mind. He wrapped his arms around his neck and whispered in his ear, “That thing from last time… we can…”
Liang Yu’s eyes narrowed.
“Really?”
Su Qingyu’s face was completely red, but he nodded.
Liang Yu kissed his lips. “Good husband.” Only then did he hand over the hidden undergarment.
