Chapter 26: I love you

I’m not going back. If I go back, when would I get my wife back?

Thian took a step back, trying not to invade Mangkon’s personal space too much. He knew everything had to be slow and gradual, and that it would take time.

The Inspector from Chiang Mai continued to be transferred temporarily to assist at Mae Sai Police Station. Everyone knew and supported what was the real reason behind it, except for Inspector Phuwin.

“Satisfying. Huh, Plub?”

“P’Phu, don’t you feel sorry for Inspector Thian?” “Serves him right.”

Both of them were watching Thian approaching Mangkon, sticking like glue to the younger man, almost possessing him. It was to the point that every breath in and out had to be within his sight. If you asked about shamelessness, Thian would definitely comes first. Luckily, when Phuwin was wooing Plub, it wasn’t this difficult. Otherwise…

He’d probably be in the same state as Thian is now.

“Why is P’Mangkon so cold-hearted?” Plub himself tried to speak up, but his senior didn’t seem to want to talk about it anymore.

“It’s good that Plub isn’t cold-hearted.”

“P’Phu, go help Inspector Thian! Plub wants them to be happy.”

No matter how much Plub wanted to help, when it came to feelings, it was hard to interfere. Have to learn how to tie must learn how to untie by themself.

Mangkon sat working quietly in his corner, ignoring the insistent talker. It’s not that he didn’t talk to him. When his former husband asked, he answered, but he didn’t say more than was necessary.

“Can you tell me about this case, Nong Mangkon?” The unusually polite tone made Mangkon want to turn away. He hated the Inspector speaking so nicely, for it affected his heart.

He didn’t want to betray himself. He had set the rule that he wouldn’t get involved with promiscuous men, even though he had given his heart to Inspector Thian. He made no exceptions to the rule.

The hurt in his heart hadn’t healed, including the resentfulness about something. “It’d be better if Inspector Phu told you. He could probably tell it better than I could.” “But would you tell me, Nong Mangkon?”

“I’m really not in the mood.”

Having said that, he got up from his desk and walked off somewhere. Thian’s head drooped in despair and frustration. He had tried approaching him every day, chatting with him, but the answer was indifference, as if the two of them were just colleagues.

“Inspector, fighting!” Sergeant Tri held up two fingers in encouragement. “I won’t give up.” I’ll find a new way.

He couldn’t give up, he can’t come back without his wife to his mom. Why should he give up!

Meanwhile, Mangkon had entered the records room to find a place to calm his emotions. His heart was starting to waver from the actions he received each day, both the help and the expressions of sincerity. It wasn’t that he didn’t feel anything, but he wasn’t confident.

“P’Mangkon?”

“Oh, Nong Plub.”

Suddenly, a call from his close junior made the police officer jump. Lately, he seemed to get startled easily. A major cause that happened because of spacing off all the time.

“Can I ask you something, P’Mangkon?” Plub walked closer. “Sure, what is it?”

“Do you like Inspector Thian?”

The question was sent out and hit the very center of the listener’s heart. The round-faced man couldn’t lie or deny it so he nodded in acknowledgement.

He liked him so very much too.

“Then why don’t you try giving the Inspector a chance?”

“I’m not confident…” The voice was so soft it was almost inaudible. “About what? Former lovers, Inspector’s old flames, or something else?” That’s it.. what is he not confident about?

“When I married the Inspector, he was very flirtatious…”

“And when you were married, the Inspector didn’t actually court anyone else, right? And he paid attention to P’Mangkon more than anyone else too.”

Plub knew the whole story from both sides. Inspector Thian told everything, including the fact that he hadn’t had physical relationships with anyone.

“That’s true…”

It was, as Plub said. At that time, there were only girls who harassed him, there was nothing else. He never courted anyone in front of him except for his ex-girlfriend, but that was dropped because Belle was about to get married.

“The Inspector is very worried about you, P’Mangkon. From what I’ve heard, both when you got shot and when you were kidnapped. Can’t this be a good mark at all?”

Mangkon sighed, thinking deeply in accordance with the words. If he cut out the flirtatious, playful, annoying, and irritating aspects, the Inspector would be a good man. Because of that, he became shaken when he fell in love.

“Or is P’Mangkon angry that the Inspector asked for a divorce?”

The senior quickly shook his head. He was just feeling resentful because it wasn’t time yet. But with just one sentence that was snapped, he still remember it.

“The Inspector snapped at me.” “Really!”

Plub paused immediately, with wide eyes and eagerness to know, he quickly asked for details. Mangkon agreed to tell everything. While listening, Plub considered and see if he was in Mangkon’s position, he might have been very angry too.

Being criticized with emotion without knowing the reason “Then why don’t you tell the Inspector?”

“It’s better not to.”

“Inspector Thian is probably on the verge of death. P’Mangkon should think about it one more time, or else someone might suddenly die.”

Plub said jokingly, but not entirely playfully. He wanted his senior to be happy and come back to being the same cheerful person he used to be.

“Think about it.”

There really is someone close to death, according to Plub’s words.

“What the hell do I do for Mangkon to forgive me?”

Another glass of liquor was poured down his throat faster than the current of water. Throughout the afternoon, Mangkon clearly avoided him. He didn’t know if he had committed any more wrongdoing or not.

But it’s so fucking bad.

In a liquor sotre in Mae Sai District, high-ranking police officers such as Inspector Phuwin and Captian Kanin were sitting in there. The two looked at the guy who wanted to drink himself today.

“Nong Mangkon doesn’t like drunks like this.”

“Ugh, Phu, tell me what kind of person your Nong likes. I can be anything for him!”

The cunning Inspector, who had never seriously wooed anyone, man or woman, was now at wit’s end, unable to find a solution. It wasn’t strange that he might like a man, because he liked Mangkon himself.

He would like Mangkon regardless of gender. “Hic, Phu, Kanin…”

“Calm down,” Kanin warned. “I can’t calm down anymore!”

Liquor was ordered and brought to his lips again and again. Time passed until around 10 PM. Rain began to fall outside, and the two police officers had to carry the completely drunk man back to the residence.

The car slowly moved inside. Thian mainly stayed over at Phuwin’s house. When long legs stepped out of the car, sharp eyes looked at the faces of his two friends.

“Phu has a wife.”

“Kanin seems to be flirting with Nadol.” “Fuck, and I don’t have anyone.” “Mangkon, I’m sorry.. please.”

“Hey, Thian, where are you going?”

Faster than the words was the action. The Chiang Mai Inspector half-walked, half-ran in a completely drunk state, running through the rain without paying attention to his friends’ shouts. His destination was his ex-wife house.

“I can’t take it anymore. I can’t stand it anymore.”

When the long strides stopped, Thian took a deep breath and shouted over the sound of the rain.

“Mangkon! I love you!”

“I love you, do you hear me, Mangkon?” “I’m sorry. I love you.”

The deep voice reflected the overwhelming feeling in his chest. He repeated the words of love over and over, not ashamed of the neighbors. His eyes remained fixed on the

second-floor window, he didn’t know if it was rainwater or tears that were streaming down his handsome face.

Thian was crying, standing waiting for the person he desired the most.

The light in the bedroom was still bright. The person who was about to close his eyes startled awake when he heard the shouting. It was what made two legs quickly walk straight to rip open the curtains immediately.

“Oh god. Inspector Thian is standing in the rain, completely soaked…” “Is he crazy? Crazy person. Why would he do this?”

His problematic heart softened, not as stubborn as before. He quickly ran downstairs, grabbed an umbrella, and went to the front of the house with concern.

“Are you crazy, Inspector? Why are you standing in the rain like this?” “Aaa, I love you. Mangkon, I love you.”

“I’m really sorry, Mangkon. I’m a bad person. I’m stupid, but I love you. I really love you.”

Thian’s eyes trembled. The tone that was babbling reflected all of his feelings. Whatever the reason, he really wanted to ask for another chance. He would stand and get struck by lightning if he could have his younger man back in his arms.

“I-Inspector…” Is he crying? This so strong man is crying. He could hardly believe his eyes.

“Baby, I love you. I love you so much. I don’t know when I started loving you, but a bedroom without you isn’t a bedroom at all, Mangkon.”

“I can’t sleep alone. I can’t sleep anymore.”

“Mangkon, can we start again? I…” Both rainwater and tears streamed down. “Even if you don’t accept my love today, tomorrow I will come again.”

“I love…”

“Stop talking, Inspector! are so selfish! Why don’t you let me talk?” “You, you’re the craziest!”

“Mangkon…”

“If you interrupt me, don’t ever show your face again, crazy person!”

Mangkon shouted back. The repeated confessions of love, the tears, and the crazy actions finally softened this heart.

“What if you get sick, being this wet?” “Crazy person. You’re the craziest.”

Mangkon didn’t wait. He dropped his umbrella and ran to hug the Inspector immediately. He didn’t want to let his brain lead the way. He just wanted to try his heart and give himself a chance. He just wanted to be happy.

Happy with the person he loves…

“Why are you quiet? Why are you silent?”

Mangkon pressed his face against the Inspector’s strong, soaked chest. They hugged in the rain, with countless eyes peering out and watching the scene, and everyone felt joyful.

“Am I allowed to speak now? I’m afraid you won’t let me see your face,” Thian was stunned. The brain that was once so brilliant had disappeared completely. His thick arms rose to hug back with complete love, as if he were dreaming of hugging Mangkon again.

“Are you stupid, Inspector?”

“I’m making you wet. You’ll get sick.”

The rain continued to fall heavily, but the warmth of the embrace that left almost no space between them was filling both of their hearts.

Thian could only smile faintly. His whole heart was still racing at the unexpected action from the person in front of him. His thick, wet hand stroked the younger man’s head gently.

“Stupid, yes. Very stupid. So stupid that I thought Mangkon would never forgive me again.” “Did I say I would forgive you?”

“I won’t make Mangkon sad again. I promise.”

His voice held a hint of seriousness. Thian himself thought that he wouldn’t be able to love anyone else in this life. His feelings told him to stop and spend the rest of his life with this person.

“Can you give me a chance?”

His round eyes met Thian’s sharp eyes. Mangkon nodded slightly in response. He believed in the promise from this Inspector.

The person who can protect him from danger…

He believed with all his heart. “If you ruin it, Inspector…” “Never, my love.”
