The Second Young Master’s Obedient Husband : Chapter 61
Su Qingyu leaned against his chest and suddenly remembered something. He raised his head to look at Liang Yu. “Husband, tomorrow I want to go see Mother.”
Liang Yu nodded and said, “I’ll go with you.”
Su Qingyu’s eyes curved into smiles, and he buried his face back into his chest. “During New Year, let’s have Mother come to our place for the reunion dinner.”
“She’s all alone. It must be awfully lonely.”
“Alright.”
Hearing Liang Yu’s unhesitating response, Su Qingyu smiled sweetly.
Liang Yu lowered his head and took those two soft lips into his mouth. First he licked the seam between them, feeling the person in his arms go soft. Then he probed his tongue inside, hooking the sweet soft tongue, tangling and stirring. His movements were unhurried, grinding against Su Qingyu until he couldn’t help letting out a whimper. He wrapped his arms around Liang Yu’s neck and responded to his kiss.
When the kiss ended, Su Qingyu’s face was completely red. His eyes held water, his pink cheeks carried springtime charm, and his lips were slightly parted, faintly revealing the tender pink tongue inside. He panted continuously like a little puppy.
Liang Yu rubbed his head, smiled, and kissed him again.
The twenty third day of the twelfth lunar month was the Little New Year, and the village began to grow lively.
Mother Liang brought Zhang Yun and Su Qingyu to busy themselves in the kitchen, steaming buns, frying meatballs… The fragrant aroma drifted out from the kitchen, tempting the only child in the family, Liang Tingyu, and the three puppies to scratch at the doorway together. When Mother Liang happened to see this, she laughed, picked up a basket of meatballs, and stuffed it into the child’s arms. “You’re all greedy things. Take these outside to eat. Stop scratching at the door to watch.”
The little lad Yu held the basket and ran off smiling. The three puppies followed him, making whining sounds of begging. Zhang Yun and Su Qingyu watched and laughed too.
After this small interlude, the three of them continued busying themselves in the kitchen. Su Qingyu ran back and forth, his hands covered in flour, not even knowing he had gotten white on his face. When Mother Liang saw this, she laughed hard, took a cloth, and wiped his face.
“Look at you, you’ve become a little flower cat.”
Su Qingyu’s face was red. He stood in place and let Mother Liang wipe his face obediently, smiled, and went back to kneading dough.
Liang Yu came in from outside after helping slaughter the pig. Seeing Su Qingyu, he smiled, walked over, and stood behind him, lowering his head to watch him knead dough. Su Qingyu bit his lip, turned his head to glance at him, then lowered his head and continued kneading.
As he kneaded, Liang Yu kept staring. Su Qingyu felt incredibly uncomfortable being watched. His movements slowed down, and the roots of his ears turned completely red.
He endured for a while, but Liang Yu was still watching. Su Qingyu couldn’t take it anymore and asked softly, “What are you looking at?”
Liang Yu didn’t speak. He reached out and wiped away a bit of flour from Su Qingyu’s face, taking the opportunity to pinch his wonderfully soft cheeks.
Su Qingyu’s face grew even redder, and he lowered his head to continue kneading dough.
Mother Liang watched from the side, smiling from ear to ear. She whispered and muttered with Zhang Yun, her eyes full of teasing.
Su Qingyu noticed this and grew even more embarrassed. He washed his hands and pushed the man lingering in the kitchen outside, closing the door before he breathed a sigh of relief. But when he turned around, he saw Mother Liang and Zhang Yun laughing even harder. Embarrassed and annoyed, he washed his hands, lowered his head, and continued kneading dough, ignoring everyone.
The twenty fourth day of the twelfth lunar month was for sweeping the house.
The whole family cleaned the inside and outside of the house. The child and puppies also joined in the fun. The laughter in the house never stopped.
Amid the laughter and joy, the New Year drew closer and closer.
The twenty fifth day of the twelfth lunar month was for grinding tofu.
The twenty sixth day was for slaughtering the New Year pig and stewing big pieces of meat.
The twenty seventh day was for going to the big market.
The twenty eighth day was for making the dough rise.
When Liang Yu told Mother Liang he wanted to bring Su’s mother over to celebrate New Year together, Mother Liang immediately agreed and said with a cheerful smile, “Wonderful. The more people, the livelier the New Year.”
When they steamed the buns, Su’s mother also came and helped them steam together. With more hands, the work went faster, and soon the buns were steaming on the stove. While the buns steamed, the two mothers went inside and sat on the heated brick bed to chat, talking about family matters and daily life.
Zhang Yun and Su Qingyu busied themselves in the kitchen. After Liang Feng and Liang Yu finished their work outside, they also came in to help them.
Mother Liang and Su’s mother watched through the window as the two men eagerly went to find their own wives and husband. They covered their mouths and laughed continuously. Su’s mother even said to Mother Liang, “Their relationship is truly good.”
Mother Liang smiled. “Of course. They chose each other themselves. How could it not be good?”
Both mothers laughed.
On the twenty ninth day of the twelfth lunar month, Mother Liang and Su’s mother taught Su Qingyu and Zhang Yun how to cut window paper decorations for the whole morning. They were all auspicious patterns. In the afternoon, each of them took some back to their own courtyards and pasted them on the windows. The window decorations were cut delicately and exquisitely, bright red and very beautiful to look at.
Liang Yu stood nearby watching. When he saw Su Qingyu standing on his toes but still unable to reach, he picked him up to help him paste them.
Su Qingyu was startled and hurriedly pasted the window decoration properly. When he was set back down, he turned his head and kissed Liang Yu on the face, smiling with a red face, looking incredibly beautiful.
The thirtieth day of the twelfth lunar month was New Year’s Eve.
Before the sky had even darkened, the sound of firecrackers in the village had already started ringing out.
The whole family ate the reunion dinner together in lively warmth.
Mother Liang put food on his plate for him, urging him to eat more and more. Su Qingyu’s bowl was piled so high it formed a peak. He ate for a long time but still couldn’t finish. When Liang Yu saw he was full, he took the bowl and finished the leftovers. His movements were completely natural.
After the reunion dinner, the two of them returned to their own room to stay up for the New Year. The two puppies were so frightened by the sound of firecrackers that they hid under the bed. No matter how Su Qingyu called them, they wouldn’t come out.
Su Qingyu lay on the ground and coaxed them for a long time, but the two still wouldn’t come out. In the end, Shanfeng barked twice, dragged the two puppies who had crawled out with his mouth, and held them in his embrace. Only then did the two little ones stop trembling and return to their lively selves.
At night, the two of them lay in bed. The sound of firecrackers outside gradually stopped, with only occasional scattered pops. After midnight passed, the new year arrived.
Su Qingyu leaned against his chest, kissed Liang Yu’s face, and said, “Husband, Happy New Year.”
Liang Yu kissed him back and said with a smile, “Happy New Year.”
The night was quiet and peaceful. After staying up for the New Year, the two of them held each other and gradually fell asleep. The three dogs lay by the charcoal brazier, sleeping sprawled out in all directions, making little snoring sounds. Everything was wonderful.
…
Even though they had slept late yesterday, the two of them still woke up early the next day to pay New Year visits.
After washing up, Liang Yu brought over a small wooden box and handed it to Su Qingyu. Su Qingyu opened it curiously. Inside was a complete set of gold jewelry: a hairpin, a pair of earrings, and a pair of bracelets. They were all engraved with little fish patterns, vivid and lifelike. The gold and red agate complemented each other beautifully.
Su Qingyu’s eyes widened in surprise. He stood on his toes and kissed Liang Yu on the lips. “So beautiful. Thank you, husband.”
Liang Yu rubbed his head, took the comb, and helped him fix his hair. He said with a smile, “We’re family. What is there to thank? I’ll buy them for you every year from now on.”
Su Qingyu sat obediently and let Liang Yu arrange his hair. He smiled at the bronze mirror and put on the earrings.
After getting Su Qingyu ready, Liang Yu pinched his face and said, “Where is my New Year gift?”
Su Qingyu kissed him on the face, got up from the stool, went to the cabinet, and brought out a bundle to hand to Liang Yu. Liang Yu opened it and saw two sets of clothes and new shoes that Su Qingyu had made himself. The collars and cuffs were embroidered with little fish patterns. His little thoughts were plain as day.
Su Qingyu’s face was red as he helped Liang Yu dress and arrange his hair. The two of them got ready together and went to the main hall to pay New Year visits. Liang Yu was wearing the new clothes Su Qingyu had made, and Su Qingyu was wearing the new jewelry Liang Yu had given him. The young couple walked holding hands the whole way, incredibly affectionate.
