The Second Young Master’s Obedient Husband : Chapter 71
Once packed up, the two of them went up the mountain, walking deep into the hills.
The three puppies pulled the cart running ahead, while Liang Yu and Su Qingyu walked alongside keeping watch over it.
The autumn wind blew away the dryness and heat. The leaves on both sides of the mountain path had yellowed for the most part, autumn leaves drifting and fluttering, falling on the ground, falling on the creatures, adding a touch of autumn color to the guests of the great mountain too.
The green mountains had become autumn mountains, the whole mountain awash in autumn colors of red and yellow, stunningly beautiful.
By the time they reached the wooden cabin, the sun had already tilted westward.
The courtyard was covered in fallen leaves. Liang Yu unfastened the ropes and let the three puppies run free, moved the heavy things to the kitchen, then picked up a broom and began sweeping the courtyard.
Su Qingyu carried the things inside one by one, opened the windows to air out the slightly stale air, tidied up the bedding, and added a thick quilt.
Once the room was tidy, Su Qingyu stood in the doorway watching Liang Yu sweep the courtyard. The setting sun shone on him, his muscles rising and falling with his movements, looking very fine.
Su Qingyu watched for a while, and for some reason his face involuntarily turned red. He turned and went into the kitchen to cook.
Tonight they would eat this year’s new grain, pick some vegetables from the garden, and take out the fresh meat they had brought up the mountain, making a good delicious meal to reward themselves.
People live for nothing more than food and drink. Having worked so hard these past days, it would not do to let their mouths suffer.
After Liang Yu finished sweeping the courtyard, he came into the kitchen to help.
After eating, the two of them bathed before getting into bed.
Lying on the bed, Su Qingyu finally truly relaxed, lying flat spread out in Liang Yu’s embrace.
Liang Yu smiled and pinched him. “Tired?”
Su Qingyu nodded. “Tired, but happy. The mountains are still better, quiet and peaceful.”
“Tomorrow I will take Tuantuan and Yuanyuan to play nearby. They have been cooped up at home for so long, they must be terribly wronged.”
“When we came up the mountain I saw chestnut trees, bearing so many fruits they covered the ground. Tomorrow you bring back a chicken, and we will stew it with chestnuts. It will be wonderfully fragrant.”
“We can also gather some mushrooms, they would be good in it too.”
…
Su Qingyu mentioned several more things. Liang Yu held him and listened carefully, occasionally responding, silently memorizing them in his heart.
As he spoke, Su Qingyu’s voice grew smaller and smaller, until finally there was no sound at all.
Liang Yu lowered his head to look. The person in his arms had already fallen asleep.
Liang Yu watched him for a while, lowered his head to kiss his forehead, closed his eyes, and not long after fell asleep too.
…
Autumn passed and winter came. This year too the whole family celebrated the New Year together. Life was comfortable, and Su Qingyu’s body had grown much stronger. When spring opened, Liang Yu once again took the mother and son to the medical clinic in town.
Su’s mother’s health was nothing serious. Su Qingyu had drunk medicine for a whole year without missing a single day. Bitterness had turned to sweetness, and this winter Su Qingyu’s hands and feet were no longer cold, and he had not fallen ill again. The old doctor felt Su Qingyu’s pulse, looked at his complexion, and said with a smile while stroking his beard, “You have been nourished well. From now on you do not need to drink medicine anymore.”
Su Qingyu was startled. Hearing that he no longer needed to drink medicine, his eyes lit up at once. He raised his head and thanked the doctor repeatedly.
The old doctor smiled. “Just take good care of yourself in daily life. Do not overexert yourself, do not let yourself get cold. As for the rest… let nature take its course.”
Su Qingyu’s face reddened slightly, and he nodded obediently.
Leaving the clinic, Su Qingyu happily threw himself into Liang Yu’s arms, wrapped his arms around his waist, and raised his head to kiss him several times fiercely.
Liang Yu laughed in spite of himself as he held him. It was rare to see the young man so unrestrained in public. He stroked his head and kissed him back.
Su’s mother had just stepped out the door when she saw the shameless display of the young couple. She covered her face, turned around, and went back inside. She chatted with the idle old doctor about health and wellness. The young couple’s affection was good, and Su’s mother felt much more at ease, her face full of smiles.
On the way back, Su Qingyu was happy the whole way. When he saw wildflowers by the road, he pointed them out to Liang Yu. When he saw birds in the trees, he pointed those out too, chattering away. Liang Yu could not help kissing him again and again, fondly. Su Qingyu’s face turned red from being kissed, and only then did he fall silent.
…
That night, Su Qingyu was remarkably forward, sitting on the bed wrapped in the quilt, waiting obediently.
Liang Yu entered wearing his clothes, closed the door, and got into bed.
Pink cheeks flowing with charm, pitiful and lovely. Gold, silver, and jade ornaments cannot compare.
White snow strikes red, disordering the heart. Soft words freely given, accompanying my lord.
…
Liang Yu looked at him, the light in his eyes dark and intense, his heavy breathing falling by Su Qingyu’s ear, no different from a wild beast.
Red powder picture books trained his body, a lovely face and soft words entangling Yu.
How could he bear to let down such tender affection, his fine bones and wasp waist unwilling to yield.
…
Flowing water does not seem to follow, soft cottony threads all become soaked.
Su Qingyu froze, and when he understood his face instantly flamed red, tears falling even harder.
“Husband… I… I…”
Su Qingyu could not even finish his sentence, only crying nonstop.
Liang Yu held him and stopped. He lowered his head to look at Su Qingyu’s lower body. The bedding was soaked in a large wet patch.
Su Qingyu cried even harder, burying his face in Liang Yu’s chest, refusing to raise his head no matter what.
Liang Yu also froze looking at the soaked bedding. Coming back to himself, he pulled Su Qingyu into his arms and coaxed him with a laugh that was not quite a laugh, “It is fine, it is fine. Do not be afraid, do not be afraid.”
Su Qingyu leaned in his arms, hiccupping from crying. It was too embarrassing, how could he… how could he…
Liang Yu gently patted his back and continued coaxing him in a warm voice, “It is my fault, I went too far.”
Su Qingyu shook his head, said nothing, only cried.
Liang Yu held him and kept coaxing until he recovered from his crying fit, then let go and got up to clean up.
He first went to the kitchen to heat water and wiped him clean. Su Qingyu was obedient, letting him tend to him. Perhaps feeling embarrassed, he never dared to look at Liang Yu.
Liang Yu changed the entire set of bedding, carried Su Qingyu back to bed, and only then had the mind to clean himself up.
After wiping down and tidying up, Liang Yu lay back on the bed and pulled him into his arms for a kiss.
Su Qingyu’s face was pressed against Liang Yu’s chest, his body curled into a tiny ball.
“Still angry?”
“I am so embarrassed I could die…”
…
Liang Yu listened to the grumbling and humming from the person in his arms, not daring to laugh out loud.
Su Qingyu chattered away to ease his emotions. Once the feelings passed he was no longer so shy. He reached out to wrap his arms around Liang Yu’s neck and kissed his face. “Husband, you today… were too fierce.”
“Because I was too happy with you, I could not help but…”
“Next time you are not allowed to be so fierce, making me into such a mess. If you do this again… I will… I will ignore you for three days.”
“That punishment is too terrible. I promise next time I will not.”
“Now you are a good husband.”
“Yes.”
