The Second Young Master’s Obedient Husband : Chapter 75

Everything was prepared, the departure date was set, and everyone felt much more settled.

But Liang Yu, as the leader, still could not find peace. Once things were ready he had to personally check them again. He had to check whether the carts ran smoothly after loading, the condition of the goods, and instruct the people staying behind to watch over the storeroom… All these were miscellaneous tasks, not physically tiring, but they took extra mental effort.

In the first few days, Su Qingyu felt reluctant to part in his heart, but when he got busy he did not have time to think about it. He just subconsciously kept following Liang Yu, and at night he had Liang Yu for company, so he did not feel too bad.

Liang Yu was up front checking the goods, and Su Qingyu followed behind him. Afraid of disturbing Liang Yu’s concentration, Su Qingyu followed quietly the whole time, occasionally helping to pass rope or water, silently counting the numbers in his heart and checking the goods along with him.

After Liang Yu finished checking the goods, he realized the person following him was not Shuanzi but Su Qingyu. He reached out to pull him over, handed him the water, rubbed his head, and asked, “Tired?”

Su Qingyu shook his head and pressed his face against his chest, rubbing against him.

Shuanzi and Scarface and the others had originally been watching the goods at some distance from the two of them. Seeing their intimate display, they tactfully turned around, their mouths stretched wide in grins, chuckling in a rather lewd manner.

Once the two of them were done being affectionate, hearing Liang Yu call for them, the men turned back around and ran over. They discussed matters with Liang Yu, who looked perfectly proper though his lips were red as could be. Su Qingyu listened quietly at the side with a red face. Once they finished discussing, he continued following Liang Yu to another storeroom to check the goods, his heart sweet beyond measure.

After a few days, the goods were all checked, the lists were sorted out, and everything that needed doing was done. Su Qingyu had free time, and that indescribable feeling welled up in his heart.

Since getting married, he had never been apart from Liang Yu for such a long time. The closer the departure date drew, the more clingy and especially well behaved Su Qingyu became.

Liang Yu gradually noticed it too. Wherever he went, the little person followed right behind him.

When he was in the courtyard fixing up the cart gear, Su Qingyu would bring over a small stool and sit nearby, holding an embroidery frame, not knowing what he was thinking about, unable to embroider a single flower in half a day. When he went inside to look at the ledger, Su Qingyu would come over to serve tea and water. When there was nothing to do, he would sit quietly beside him, pressing close to Liang Yu. Even if he was just spacing out, he did not find it boring.

At night when they returned to the room, Su Qingyu was clingier than before. He would lean over and refuse to leave, burrowing his whole body into Liang Yu’s arms, finding a comfortable position to nestle in, burying his face in Liang Yu’s neck and rubbing against him, hugging Liang Yu’s waist and refusing to let go no matter what.

Liang Yu reached out to stroke his hair, and he would rub against his palm, like an adorable and pitiful little cat, making Liang Yu’s heart melt completely.

When it came to intimate matters, Su Qingyu was even more obedient. Before he would still blush and push back a little, but now no matter how he was handled he would not get annoyed, and would even soften and lean into the person’s arms. Afterward he would not hide away either, his body soft as he still came over to kiss him and beg for more.

Liang Yu could not endure this at all, and was even more reluctant to let go of the soft little person.

One time Liang Yu himself felt he had gone a bit too far. He came back to his senses, stopped, and looked at the reaction of the person in his arms. Su Qingyu’s face was covered in tears, his eyelashes wet into clumps, but he looked at him obediently. Not only did he not push him away, he reached out to wrap his arms around Liang Yu’s neck, took the initiative to kiss Liang Yu’s lips, and called out to him softly, “Husband…”

Liang Yu’s heart ached at the sight. He kissed away the tears on his face, held his waist, and wanted to pull out. Su Qingyu tightened his legs, shook his head, and rubbed his face against his. “It’s fine. Husband can do whatever he wants.”

Liang Yu’s heart turned completely soft. How could he still bear to bully his own husband? He held him tight and used gentle, tender kisses to soothe the little person in his arms.

Su Qingyu leaned against him. After a while his body stopped trembling. He rubbed against Liang Yu’s chest and said dejectedly, “Seven more days.”

Liang Yu stroked his face and said nothing more.

After Su Qingyu had recovered, he asked in a muffled voice, “How long will Husband be gone?”

“Two months, three at most.”

Su Qingyu bit his lip, tilted his little face up, and tried hard to put on a fierce look. “You’re going away for so long this time. When you get back, you have to give me everything you’ve been saving up during those days.”

Hearing his words, Liang Yu felt as if something had squeezed his heart hard. He said in a hoarse voice, “Alright, I’ll save it all up and give it to you when I get back.”

Only then did Su Qingyu make a muffled sound of agreement.

Liang Yu held the aggrieved little person in his arms and silently made a decision.

In the following days, Su Qingyu did not go anywhere. He stayed in the courtyard all day, sticking to Liang Yu wherever he went.

A few friendly husbands from the village came to invite him to go to the market, but he shook his head and said no. Mother Liang called him to come sew together in the room, but after sitting for a while he could not sit still anymore. He chatted with Mother Liang and Zhang Yun for a bit, then picked up his things and went back to their little courtyard to continue clinging to Liang Yu.

Though there were only two of them eating, Su Qingyu made the meals incredibly lavish, mostly in flavors Liang Yu loved. Every few days he would stew meat, stew big bones, braise fish…

When the food was ready, Su Qingyu himself ate little, busy serving Liang Yu food the whole time. Liang Yu served him food and told him to eat too. Su Qingyu only nodded, took two bites of rice, and then just stared at Liang Yu again.

Liang Yu sighed, set down his chopsticks, reached out to stroke his face, and said, “What’s wrong?”

Su Qingyu shook his head. “Nothing. I just want to look at Husband.”

Liang Yu reached out to pull him into his arms. Su Qingyu held him tight and chattered away with instructions, his voice unconsciously taking on a crying tone. “Be careful on the road, Husband. Don’t tire yourself out. Don’t go hungry. Put on more clothes when it gets cold. Don’t indulge in coolness when it gets hot. Send a letter back when you reach the south. Don’t let me worry.”

“Bring plenty of clothes. It’s cold in the north and hot in the south. You’ll be gone so long, and the weather changes fast. You need to bring both thin and thick ones. Bring medicine too, in case you get a headache or fever on the road…”

Liang Yu just held him, quietly listening to the chattering in his arms, occasionally making a sound of agreement, his own heart feeling heavy too.

After Su Qingyu finished chattering, he pressed against Liang Yu’s arms for a while longer before lifting his head. The circles around his eyes were red, but he did not shed any tears.

Liang Yu pinched his face, kissed his eyes, and said with a smile, “You did great this time. You didn’t cry.”

Su Qingyu proudly lifted his little chin, his voice a bit hoarse. “Crying too much is bad for the eyes. My eyes are very important. I need them to embroider, to make clothes, to look at Husband for a long time…”

Liang Yu was stunned. The corners of his eyes could not help turning red too. He showered the person in his arms with kisses, cherishing him, and no matter how much he doted on him it never felt like enough.

The lavish meal was not wasted in the end. They fed each other mouthful by mouthful. Liang Yu fed Su Qingyu until he was full, then let go and finished the rest cleanly.

Su Qingyu propped his chin on his hand and watched him eat with a smile. Liang Yu liked eating the food he made, and Su Qingyu’s heart was sweet too. It did not matter if the meal could not be finished, since there were three little dogs at home, and food would never go to waste.
