The Second Young Master’s Obedient Husband : Chapter 84
The next day, Liang Yu called a few of the sharper men in the group over to him.
“Learn how to sell goods too.”
The men were stunned for a moment and said: “Learn what?”
“Learn how to call out to customers, learn how to talk prices, learn how to read people’s faces. Don’t just stand there all day like a door god, scaring the customers away.”
The few men laughed awkwardly and said nothing. Qin Cheng stood beside Liang Yu, snickering.
Liang Yu turned to look at him: “What are you laughing at? You’re learning too.”
Qin Cheng froze. Qin Cheng stopped smiling.
A big rough man with a scraggly beard tried to imitate Su Qingyu’s way of acting spoiled, opening his eyes wide and looking at Liang Yu pitifully to try to make him soften. The other men beside him followed suit and looked at Liang Yu together.
Liang Yu was disgusted by their deliberate attempts to act cute. He kicked each of them and cursed with a dark face: “Get out of here and go learn!”
Although the men couldn’t escape their fate, they still burst into laughter seeing how disgusted Liang Yu was, calling out cheerfully as they ran out the door to find Su Qingyu.
Su Qingyu was in the courtyard checking inventory. When he saw people coming, he put away the account book. Seeing Liang Yu following behind the men, he subconsciously broke into a sweet smile. Liang Yu’s originally dark face also unconsciously showed a smile, and he nodded at Su Qingyu.
Su Qingyu looked at the men standing before him and put on a serious little face, earnestly starting them from the very basics. How to recognize goods, how to greet people, how to pick up the conversation. After explaining simply, he had them try one by one, then corrected them. After a few days there was some progress, and Su Qingyu took them along to negotiate prices. While he talked prices with the shopkeeper up front, the men listened behind him, watched, and learned the techniques of conversation and reading people’s expressions. Anything they didn’t understand, they would ask about back at the inn.
That smooth talking man had learned quite a lot from Su Qingyu and could now handle things on his own. After a few days, those who could be trained followed Su Qingyu to the shops to negotiate prices. Those who couldn’t be trained followed the smooth talker to set up stalls at the street corner to sell retail, learning how to call out and sell goods.
If someone really couldn’t manage it, Liang Yu didn’t make things difficult for them and just had them guard the goods to prevent theft. Those men knew they were tongue tied, so they breathed a sigh of relief that they didn’t have to sell goods. They honestly watched over the goods, taking shifts, keeping the inventory tightly secured.
With more hands able to help, Su Qingyu could get into bed a bit earlier tonight. Liang Yu hugged the little fellow who burrowed into his chest, unable to help the smile that formed on his lips.
Su Qingyu buried himself in Liang Yu’s chest and rubbed against him wildly, humming and whining for a good while before raising his messy haired head and giving a loud smooch on Liang Yu’s lips.
Liang Yu caught him with a smile, holding his lips and gently rubbing against them. Su Qingyu found him too slow, and his soft tongue actively pushed into Liang Yu’s mouth.
Liang Yu triumphantly bit the little fish that had swum in on its own, his hand covering the back of Su Qingyu’s neck, and kissed him thoroughly.
On the road it hadn’t been very convenient, and the two of them had mostly just kissed and hugged. It had been a long time since they had been intimate. Now that they finally had some free time to be close, the kissing stirred up fire in both of them…
Having not done it for so long, Su Qingyu was like it was his first time. Liang Yu noticed right from the start and was afraid of hurting Su Qingyu, so he didn’t dare use too much force and could only proceed cautiously.
The slower Liang Yu went, the more unbearable Su Qingyu found it. Tears trembled and fell as he blurted out without thinking: “Liang Yu! Are you useless or what!”
Liang Yu’s movements paused. He ground his back teeth and bit into his fair neck, no longer holding back his strength, and gave him a proper lesson.
…
The next day Su Qingyu got out of bed grimacing. Recalling his own death seeking provocation from last night, he was left with nothing but regret.
Especially when he went downstairs and discovered it was already afternoon. The men who had been selling at the street corner had already come back after selling out. Seeing the teasing looks from some familiar faces, Su Qingyu regretted it even more. He asked the waiter for hot water and food, and ran back upstairs in a flash.
When Liang Yu came back, he went upstairs to coax him. Somehow he coaxed him so well that neither of them came down even for dinner.
When Qin Cheng came out to pour water, he saw a waiter carrying a food box upstairs, heading in the direction of Liang Yu’s room. Qin Cheng also felt relieved, thinking that Liang Yu still had some sense. He let out a yawn, poured out the dirty water, and strolled back to his room to sleep.
…
With more people selling goods, the burden on Su Qingyu’s shoulders was much lighter, and he no longer had to stay up until very late every night. If he rested early some day, he could even have a round with Liang Yu to satisfy his craving.
The little couple was so lovey dovey and sticky sweet that Qin Cheng couldn’t help thinking of his own husband too. Having been out for so long, although they could earn silver, he truly missed home.
After a few days, Su Qingyu settled the destinations for all the goods based on the prices each shop had quoted. Knowing they would come again next year, some shopkeepers even pre ordered goods for next year. Some who wanted goods they couldn’t find with them made arrangements for what they wanted, to be brought and sold next year.
All the goods were sold, the accounts were settled, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. That evening, after Su Qingyu finished his bath and dried his hair sitting on the bed, he brought over the money pouch and counted the silver ingots, smiling as he counted, looking a bit silly.
Liang Yu held his husband and watched him count the silver, his heart full of pride and joy.
Su Qingyu finished counting the silver and looked up, his eyes bright as he looked at Liang Yu: “Husband, we’ve struck it rich!”
Liang Yu pinched Su Qingyu’s face, amused: “Yes.”
Su Qingyu gave Liang Yu a kiss, put the money pouch away in the chest and locked it, then turned and leaned into Liang Yu’s chest. After a while he spoke: “Husband, I’m not afraid of hard work. I always used to feel that I was holding you back. Now that I can help with my own abilities, I’m very happy inside.”
Liang Yu rubbed his head and kissed him seriously on the forehead.
Su Qingyu smiled softly, looking at Liang Yu with eyes full of dependence: “Husband, when everything is done, let’s go take a look at the street where I lived when I was little.”
Liang Yu responded softly. The two of them held each other and chatted a bit more. The night gradually deepened, and Liang Yu placed his hand over Su Qingyu’s eyes, coaxing in a low voice: “Sleep.”
Su Qingyu obediently closed his eyes. Today he was extremely tired and fell asleep quickly.
Liang Yu couldn’t fall asleep for a while. He touched Su Qingyu’s face, looking at the little fellow in his arms, his heart full of mixed emotions. Before they set out, he had never known Su Qingyu had this side to him. At home he had been delicate and soft, but when he went out to talk business it was like he had become a different person. He said what needed to be said, fought for what needed to be fought for. That clever mouth of his somehow produced so many arguments. Gone was the timid air, replaced by growing pride and confidence, like a star that had dispersed its gloom, dazzling and brilliant.
He knew that being able to hold such a fine person in his arms was already the greatest fortune. No matter how much he cherished and valued him, it still felt insufficient. Only true heart exchanged for true heart, seeking to grow old together, would do.
