The Second Young Master’s Obedient Husband : Chapter 88

The next day when Liang Yu woke up, he regretted last night’s events terribly. He knew he had a habit of crying when drunk. After growing up, he had trained his drinking capacity so much that he could drink several pots of fine brew without getting drunk. He didn’t know how the tavern keeper brewed her wine. It didn’t taste strong going down but had such a powerful after effect. He had capsized in a gutter and lost all face.

Liang Yu covered his face and had a private meltdown for a while, then heated water to bathe. He washed twice and brushed his teeth twice, confirming there was no alcohol smell on him before getting into bed to hug Su Qingyu. It was still early, so he could sleep a bit more.

When Su Qingyu woke up, he habitually rubbed against Liang Yu’s chest in his arms. Smelling the familiar clean soapberry scent, his little brows finally relaxed. He hugged Liang Yu and gave him a satisfied kiss, buried himself for a while longer, then opened his eyes.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Liang Yu looking at him with a smile, staring straight at him not knowing for how long. Su Qingyu thought of his own previous behavior and his face reddened. He had originally wanted to tease Liang Yu but lost his nerve, and so the matter passed in everyone’s silence.

In a way, Second Master Liang’s dignity was still preserved.

The New Year was approaching, and Liang Yu knew everyone was anxious to split the silver to celebrate. So he sped things up. The two of them checked the accounts that Big Brother had sorted out once more, and after confirming there were no errors, the next day they had Shuanzi call everyone over according to the list.

The courtyard was packed full, with more than twenty men crowded together. The steam rising from their bodies melted the light snow that had fallen during the night.

Liang Yu set up a small table in the courtyard and spread the account books on it. Su Qingyu sat beside him holding the money pouch. Liang Yu didn’t waste words. Once everyone was assembled, he read the names from the account book one by one.

As each name was called, a man would come to Su Qingyu’s side to collect his silver. Su Qingyu counted the money on the spot according to the accounts, packed it into a small cloth pouch and handed it over, then crossed the name off the paper.

The men didn’t rush to leave after receiving their silver. Instead, they returned to the group and stood in place again. Liang Yu glanced at them and didn’t think much of it, assuming they wanted to leave together after everyone had received their share.

The last man took his silver and also returned to the group. Once he stood in place, suddenly all twenty some men knelt down together and gave Liang Yu three solid kowtows.

Liang Yu was stunned. He stood motionless, his face showing no expression. But Su Qingyu stood behind him and saw the hand he held behind his back clenched tight, the veins on the back of his hand bulging. Clearly he was not as calm as he appeared on the surface.

Liang Yu was silent for a moment, then said: “What are you kneeling for? I’m not the heaven and earth or your parents, who deserve your kneeling. Get up and get out of here.”

The men all laughed, stood up, and left the courtyard in twos and threes, their footsteps scattering to various parts of the village.

The trading business came to a close. The accounts were split, and after a busy year, people could finally rest. Winter came early in the north. The first snow had already fallen, and subsequent snows followed one after another, each day falling heavier than the last.

The twenty some men each returned to their homes. Some got married. Some took advantage of the winter leisure to hire people to clear the wasteland first, so that turning the soil in spring would be much easier. Others had already started preparing for the New Year… Each one was so busy their feet didn’t touch the ground, but their days had purpose now, and the busyness was willingly endured.

Occasionally when they met Su Qingyu and the others at the village entrance, they would greet each other, their faces full of joy. The trading had been tiring, but they earned a lot of silver. Past hardships gradually faded away, and this time everyone could have a prosperous New Year.

During the months of trading, although the two of them slept together in the carriage every night, there were many people and many eyes. Let alone intimacy, even whispering a few private words required lowering their voices. Sometimes when they stayed in the wilderness, Liang Yu also had to help keep watch.

Without Liang Yu by his side, Su Qingyu couldn’t sleep at night either. Listening to Liang Yu’s footsteps as he patrolled outside, although Liang Yu was right nearby, just being separated for a short while, Su Qingyu couldn’t control himself and started thinking of him. As he thought, his heart couldn’t stop turning sour.

When Liang Yu returned from keeping watch, Su Qingyu knew this wasn’t good, but he couldn’t control himself. When he saw Liang Yu, he would bury himself in his arms and need Liang Yu to coax him for a good while before his emotions settled. When his mind was clear again, he would feel hot with shame at his own previous fussiness.

It was inconvenient on the road. Although the two of them had been together a few times, they didn’t dare make too much noise. With the quilt covering them, Su Qingyu bit his lower lip tightly, his face flushed red from holding back, tears falling straight down. Liang Yu’s heart ached watching him, so he always controlled the frequency.

Not to mention being full, it wasn’t even enough to satisfy Su Qingyu’s craving.

Several days after returning, Liang Yu had always remembered that Su Qingyu’s health had been poor before. After traveling for so long, he wanted to let Su Qingyu rest well for a few days, so he didn’t truly touch him.

The two of them hugged and kissed and rolled around on the kang several times. Liang Yu had kissed every part of Su Qingyu’s body. Both of them were burning like dry firewood, right at the point of no return, but Liang Yu forcibly held back. He grabbed the quilt, wrapped Su Qingyu up, threw on his clothes and went to the outer room to cool off before returning to the room.

Su Qingyu was left hanging by his teasing. Looking at the man who left without looking back, he hatefully punched the bedding, lay on the bed to recover for a while, and the more he thought, the angrier he got.

Hearing the sound, he looked up to see Liang Yu had returned. Su Qingyu was already flushed red with anger, his eyes round and wide. When Liang Yu tried to hug him, he bit hard several times on Liang Yu’s still water beaded, full chest muscles. The last bite landed squarely on a rarely vulnerable spot on Liang Yu’s body, and he bit down without letting go.

Liang Yu sucked in air from the biting. Looking at the little fellow biting with his cheeks puffed out, it hurt but he couldn’t stop laughing. He reached out and rubbed the head of the person in his arms, grabbed his hair and pulled outward. Seeing that the person in his arms still wouldn’t let go, Liang Yu was also somewhat helpless.

He pinched Su Qingyu’s puffed out cheeks and coaxed in a gentle voice: “Bite if you want to bite. What’s the rush? It’s not that I don’t want you. Let’s wait a few more days until your body is better.”

Su Qingyu bit the other side in dissatisfaction too, leaving tooth marks all over Liang Yu’s body before letting go in satisfaction. That night he wouldn’t let Liang Yu hold him to sleep either. After being married for so long, it was rare for the two of them to sleep in separate quilts.

Only when Su Qingyu woke up the next day, he discovered that at some point he had rolled back into the same quilt as Liang Yu again. He huffed and punched the bedding once more, silently cursing himself for having no backbone.
